Xbox series X stock – live: latest UK replenishment updates from Argos, Game, Currys, Smyths and more

Microsoft’s strong performance at Gamescom 2021

Update: Xbox Series X is now sold out at AO

Since its launch in November of last year, the Xbox Series X has been steadily sold across the UK. A global shortage of microprocessors, coupled with local and international supply chain issues, has slowed production of the new console at a breakneck pace and left buyers wondering where to buy the new Xbox.

The cheaper and less powerful Xbox Series S is more readily available for purchase online, but the more advanced Xbox Series X sells out within seconds of new stock appearing. Knowing when and where the Xbox will be restocked next is the key to successfully getting one.

If you want to know where to buy an Xbox Series X in UK today, you have come to the right place. Our live inventory tracking blog will keep you up to date with the latest inventory drops as they happen, along with all the news on planned replenishment dates and milestone events.

Will Xbox supply issues get worse before they get better?

These Xbox shortages are expected to last well into next year, and potentially even beyond.

The global supply chain has become completely erased – to use the technical term – with microchip shortages affecting everything from electric toothbrushes and next-gen consoles to smartphones, laptops and cars.

Far from over, analysts believe the semiconductor shortage may not be remedied until 2023. What is the release date of ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ on Xbox Series X?

Cyberpunk 2077 is out now on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia

(Red Project CD)

If you try to upgrade your Xbox in time to the next generation version of Cyberpunk 2077, you have plenty of time to find Microsoft’s console in stock.

As reported by VGC, developer CD Projekt Red suggested the Xbox Series X Cyberpunk 2077 upgrade could slip into next year.

The dystopian RPG launched in September 2020, but was so buggy and crash-prone that it was effectively unplayable. Cyberpunk 2077 was so broken that Sony withdrew the game from sale until some of the more heinous issues could be fixed.

The Projekt Red CD set is in a much better condition now, but this recent Cyberpunk 2077 Release date news suggests we might wait a little longer to dive back into a more polished, next-gen version of the developer’s hit RPG.

Where to find the Xbox series X in store

Our Xbox inventory tracking tools are able to track the console as soon as it appears for sale anywhere online.

Keeping track of the Xbox Series X in physical stores across the country is trickier, but can be done – we’re using helpful tips from readers as well as social media reports to keep tabs on what’s going on there – down in the real world.

Here are some tips for finding the Xbox series X in stores this weekend.

  • The most common retailers said to have in-store inventory are Argos and Smyths Toys. To a lesser extent, we’ve heard of John Lewis & Partners, Currys PC World, and Game having physical stock.
  • Enter your zip code on the retailer’s online product page to check local stock. If you can, scroll down to take a look at other stores further away from you.
  • Many stores do not record returned or uncollected Xbox pre-orders in their stock systems, so the console may appear out of stock when it is not. Go in person to your local store and ask a member of staff.

Is the Xbox in stock at Asda?

While Tesco appears to have given up on fully restocking the Xbox Series X, Asda still occasionally receives inventory from Microsoft’s new console.

However, the retailer is currently in the midst of one of the longest dry spells on record. Asda has now been out of stock for 84 days.

The retailer replenishes so sporadically that it’s hard to predict when the Xbox might reappear there. But don’t worry: we track every UK retailer, no matter how often they drop.
