Xbox Game Pass subscribers surprised by new free perks

Microsoft has surprised Xbox Game Pass subscribers with new free perks that can be claimed right now. While many of the benefits associated with Game Pass revolve around the library of accessible Xbox and PC games, Microsoft often partners with other companies to make the service even better. Now that trend has continued once again, this time thanks to a new partnership with Apple.

From now until March 31, 2023, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can get a free trial of Apple TV+ and Apple Music. This trial for each service will last for 3 months in total and is only available to those who are not currently subscribed to any of the platforms. Essentially, that means you can’t stack that 3-month trial on any subscriptions you might already have. While that’s a little disappointing, it’s at least one exciting new offering that should give Game Pass subscribers the chance to try out these services for themselves.

As usual, the main caveat with this situation is that this offer is only available to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. This means that if you have only one subscription to Xbox Game Pass for console or PC, you will not be able to take advantage of this offer. While this may be upsetting for some, it really shouldn’t come as a shock as those additional Game Pass perks are still tied to the Ultimate version of the service. While Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is a little more expensive than the base options available, Microsoft is at least doing a solid job of trying to make this tier worth it with additional perks like this with Apple.

Will you be looking to try out Apple TV+ from Apple Music via Xbox Game Pass if you’re not already a subscriber? And what future benefits or trials would you like to see come to Game Pass in this way? Let me know in the comments or message me on Twitter at @MooreMan12.
