One of the most disappointing versions of 2021 was The wonderful world of Balan – through Sonic the hedgehog creator, Yuji Naka.
This title would have had the potential to trigger epileptic seizures, was accused of featuring a Ghostbusters ‘knock-off’ song, and in the end, sales of the game plummeted. Naka parted ways with Square Enix shortly after its release and explained in June how he plans to retire.
It looks like he hasn’t finished yet. In a Message on Twitter Thanking fans for the birthday messages he recently received, Naka revealed how he is now learning to program simple games for smartphones. Here is his full message:
âThank you for your birthday message. Recently I have started studying programs again and am making a simple game for smartphones with Unity. That’s okay because it’s created by one person, but programming to make games is fun. Hope you can play the app. “
When Balan Wonderworld released earlier this year in March, we described it as a disappointing platformer with a monotonous level design, appalling performance, and shallow gameplay that just wasn’t fun to play. Get a recap in our review.
