Random: Perfect Pokémon graphics do not exist… Oh

Pokemon games have had their fair share of criticism over the years, often specifically targeting their visuals. It seems such reviews have only increased over time, with characters like Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon Sword & Shield, and even the recently announced Pokémon Scarlet & Violet all receiving significant heat from fans. fans on their graphic styles.

Well, Twitter user @pokeyugami has created what we think is the most perfect realization of a 3D Pokemon game we’ve ever seen. By creating a sort of cel-shaded effect and using Pokémon character designer Ken Sugimori’s art style, @pokeyugami has created a fantastic mix of old and new.

He looks gorgeous, right? We’re assuming the environment in question here is Pokémon Red & Blue’s Viridian Forest, with creatures typical of that particular area – like Pikachu, Weedle, and Caterpie – all roaming around. Granted, it probably lacks detail in some areas, like the stark white background, but the main protagonist looks amazing!

Chances are Game Freak will never opt for a style like this for their mainline Pokemon games, unfortunately, but we can always dream. Still, it’s clear that the team is slowly but surely getting to grips with the 3D visuals, with Scarlet & Violet looking quite pretty in places!

What do you think of the art style featured here? Do you wish Pokémon games looked like this? Let us know!
