Nintendo’s Delayed Metroid Dread Amiibo Pack

Terror Metroid is slated for release on Nintendo Switch in a few weeks, but it looks like the amiibo figures that come with the game won’t release the same day, at least in Europe. Today, the official Nintendo of Europe Twitter account confirmed that the numbers will be delayed by one month in the region and will now be released on November 5. According to the company, the delay was caused by a shipping issue. At this time, it’s unclear whether this issue will cause a similar delay in other regions, such as North America.

“Due to unforeseen delivery delays, the Metroid Dread 2-Pack amiibo is now expected to launch in the UK and Europe on November 5th. Terror Metroid will still launch for Nintendo Switch on October 8 as originally planned. We apologize for the delay “, the company wrote on Twitter.

Nintendo’s Zelda & Loftwing amiibo suffered a similar delay in North America in July. The figurine arrived in stores in time for the launch of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, but in a much smaller quantity than expected. A month later, the amiibo has become much easier to find and still seems relatively easy to find. Hopefully, the Metroid amiibo two-pack will be easy to find, too, at some point.

Fortunately, the two-pack isn’t an integral part of the game, and players won’t miss a thing if they’re forced to wait. The Samus amiibo gives the hero an extra reservoir of in-game energy the first time he’s scanned, while the EMMI amiibo provides a Missile + tank the first time he’s scanned, granting Samus 10 extra missiles for use in the game. After that, amiibo can each be scanned once per day to replenish their health and missiles. These are nice bonuses, sure, but fans will not miss anything if there is a delay. Hope all Metroid fans who want the two-pack can get one!

Terror Metroid will be released on October 8, exclusively on Nintendo Switch. You can check out our previous coverage of the game here.
