Nintendo has confirmed that the final fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be announced on October 5, with a special presentation by Masahiro Sakurai scheduled for the reveal.

The presentation – titled The Final Battle – will air at 3:00 p.m. BEST / 4:00 p.m. CEST on October 5. It will be the very last Super Smash Bros. Ultimate presentation, as it announces that the final fighter will join the vast roster.

There is a lot of speculation as to who will join Ultimate. While many believe that Waluigi is finally destined to receive his invitation, previous Smash The DLC (downloadable content) shows that any character can be added. Last Monday (September 20), a fan-made trailer showed Waluigi inviting himself into the Smash listing.

Previous DLC additions to the fighting game include Banjo & Kazooie, Final fantasy wicked Sephiroth, as well as Persona 5is Joker. The last DLC fighter to be added was Kazuya Mishima, who rose from Tekken To Super Smash Bros. Ultimate earlier in the year.

In June, director Masahiro Sakurai reiterated that the next DLC fighter would be the latest addition to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, saying “there won’t be any more after that”. Over the long development of Smash, Sakurai added the following:

“Come to think of it, it’s been almost 10 years since Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS consoles was in development. I have been working on this for a long time. You could call it my life’s work.

In addition, the 2016 version of Hitman has been bombarded with criticism on GOG for including DRM, despite joining a store platform with a strong anti-DRM stance. A spokesperson for the showcase team said that although “we study” the problem, “we will not tolerate the bombings.”
