Square-Enix announces the arrival of “Chocobo GP” on Nintendo Switch

Earlier this week, the gaming world was honored with a Nintendo Direct surprise. If you don’t know, Nintendo Directs are basically just 20- to 50-minute hype videos for upcoming Nintendo games. Often times, they contain exciting information and trailers for games not previously announced. This week, in addition to learning some controversial casting decisions for the upcoming Mario movie, a new Kirby game in 3D, and the return of the popular Bayonetta series, we also received an incredibly unexpected announcement in the form of a kart racing game in the “Final Fantasy” universe called “Chocobo GP”.

Believe it or not, he’s not even the first “Final Fantasy” kart racer, just the first in quite a while. In 1999, the game “Chocobo race“was released for the original Playstation.” Chocobo GP “is a brand new game, however, and based on the trailer, it looks like it’s trying to fill the void that Nintendo left open thanks to a lack of new really new game “Mario Kart” since the release in 2014 of “Mario kart 8. “It looks like a fun little runner that we can’t wait to see more of as it nears launch in 2022. Check out the trailer below to see it for yourself.
