Ziggurat Interactive has announced that BloodRayne: ReVamped and BloodRayne 2: ReVamped, enhanced versions of BloodRayne 1 and 2, are coming to consoles.
Rayne returns to consoles, as improved versions of SangRayne‘s The two main installments officially arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch this fall. Publisher Ziggurat Interactive has announced that the set will arrive as BloodRayne: overhauled and BloodRayne 2: Revamped, and will be available digitally, with a limited-time physical release through Limited Run Games on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The SangRayne The franchise has recently seen some revival following the announcement that a 2011 remaster BloodRayne: Betrayal would arrive next September.
Last year, it was revealed that publisher Ziggurat Interactive had acquired the rights to the 2000s vampire action-adventure series from Majesco Entertainment, SangRayne. Intending to do more than stick its name on the franchise, the publisher worked with its original developers to release improved versions of the first two installments of the series on PC. Title BloodRayne: Terminal Cut (and BloodRayne 2: Terminal Cut), these new versions were updates for modern PC systems, bringing new features and improvements such as 4K resolution and full controller support for ported titles. Now, it looks like console users may soon be able to check out the series’ remasters.
In a recent tweet, Interactive Ziggurat announcement BloodRayne: overhauled and BloodRayne 2: Revamped will be ported to multiple consoles. These enhanced editions of the original games will be available digitally for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch later this year. If these Redesigned editions of the first two SangRayne payments are similar to BloodRayne: Terminal Cut, then they’ll support up to 4K resolution with reprocessed lighting, enhanced effects, scaled cutscenes – and feature multiple audio and text localization options. Additionally, Ziggurat added that the physical Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch editions will also be available in the future, as a limited time version by Limited Run Games.
Originally released in 2002, SangRayne is an action-adventure hack and slash that follows the half-vampire Rayne as she tried to protect mankind from supernatural creatures and Nazis in the 1930s. The game received favorable reviews from critics and fans for its extensive gore features and sweet themes, later receiving both a sequel and a SangRayne film adaptation in the mid-2000s.
With upgraded versions seeing a PC port and the next one this year Redesigned console editions, maybe Rayne will get a sequel and a third installment in the main SangRayne series. Ziggurat seems determined to bring attention to the series. Until then, however, players can check out the events and gameplay that helped BloodRayne the heroine enters the game world to begin with.
