If you live by the motto, “I gotta catch ’em all,” a major electronics company might have a new smartphone you’re interested in.
What happened: A new foldable smartphone from Samsung Electronics Co Ltd SSNNF could take fans of the Pokémon franchise to new levels.
Samsung is nearing the release of the Pokémon Galaxy Z Flip 3 edition. The phone approximates a Pokedex, but doesn’t unfold like the popular Pokémon ID device featured in the game and TV show.
The phone will come with a Pokedex-themed necklace pouch, Pikachu tail keychain, PopSocket Pokeball holder, and multiple interchangeable back covers. The phone also comes preloaded with Pokémon ringtones and wallpapers.
Samsung has a timer on its website showing that more details will be forthcoming for the Pokémon-themed smartphone on April 25.
The Galaxy Z Flip 3 retails for $1,000 unlocked. Samsung has yet to announce pricing for the Pokémon phone.

Why it matters: Pokémon, which is partly owned by Nintendo Co NTDOYremains one of the best-selling video game franchises of all time and a popular brand around the world.
The franchise celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2021 and continues to see strong sales of video games, trading cards and toys for young fans and those who grew up playing games in the franchise or collecting cards.
